Recycling Packaging Coalition after one year of operation

The Viet Nam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam) has just celebrated 1 year in the role of connecting businesses, the manufacturer enhances the responsibility of collecting, recycling and campaiding for smart consumers. PRO Vietnam set goals, by 2030, all packing packaging of the members put out consumption in the market will be collected and recycled.

PRO Vietnam representative said, starting from long-term vision of the periodic economy of recycling packaging, the unit is a non-profit organization operating on the platform that attracts members of products using disposable packaging. Currently, PRO Vietnam has 12 joint enterprises to build recycled chain, sorting garbage, as well as strengthen the availability of packaging ecosystem.

This model recreated the entire lifecycle of the product's envelope, from the design and fabrication of packaging from recycled materials; The solution for collecting, recycling, reusing packaging... Members have contributed to increasing the number of scrap collectors, ensuring the full handling of the packaging, and organizing a variety of community awareness raising activities.

For example, FrieslandCampina Vietnam Co. organizes the program "together with Fristi environmental protection" in May 5-12/2019 at 120 schools in Bac Giang province, Lang Son, Cao equals and hung yen; Collectors 460,000 casing milk box. Tetra Pak Company held 1,400 workshops for 800,000 students, teachers in Hanoi and HCMC in the recycling of paper boxes; Organizing green Living Day, people carry green milk box.

With Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, the Mizuiku program helps common units to have recycled knowledge, sorting waste for 6,500 students at 15 elementary schools in Ben Tre, Quang Nam and Lang Son provinces.

The series on changing the perception of packaging used 1 time are also units such as Nutifood, Saigon Co. OP, Nestlé Vietnam... Promote deployment. Own supermarket system Saigon Co. OP has removed nylon bags, replaced with biological biodegradable plastic bags and 243,000 environmental bags.

Besides, the PRO Vietnam Coalition also improved plastic packaging. The brand of Milo produces packaging with a recycling message from Feb. Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam removes its shrink in the Aquafina bottle cap, which saves 140 tonnes of resin emissions to the environment each year.

In parallel, the company organizes the chain of internal operations, connecting officers, employees engaged in sorting garbage at the office, installing the system of trash and organic... According to the FrieslandCampina Vietnam, in 2019, this activity reduced 18% of the mixed waste of landfills, recycling 90% of waste at the factory. Companies like Tetra Pak also call for nearly 350 employees to clean up Ho tram beach. 300 Nestlé Vietnam employees gather nearly 1.2 tonnes of garbage on the beach.

According to PRO Vietnam, the chain of operations has promoted the culture of recycling in enterprises, changing the perception and behavior of people, especially the young generation, co-creating initiatives to build a Vietnam green, clean, beautiful.

The unit is ambitious, by the year 2030, all packing packaging of the members put out consumption in the market will be collectors and recycled.
