The beverage packaging factory in Binh Duong of Tetra Pak - a world leader in food processing and packaging solutions from Sweden - has just received the BRC global certification for packaging production with the highest AA rating for the fourth time in a row. BRC certification continues to affirm the commitment to protect food, people and the planet being implemented by Tetra Pak in all aspects of its activities in Vietnam.
BRC (British Retail Consortium) is a quality management system standard of the British Retail Consortium, born in 1988 to protect consumers. This standard was developed based on the main content is to provide common standards for food safety, quality and production processes of food packaging manufacturers.
To achieve BRC certification, Tetra Pak factory in Binh Duong has simultaneously applied three main pillars: smart factory model, error prevention system and quality protection culture throughout the factory. Specifically:
- A smart factory model with an intuitive management platform, fully digitized, helps the factory not only document the operation process, control every stage of the production process with an automatic approval flow , but also easy access to information for upskilling training and real-time information management.
- The failure prevention system is developed by the factory with a variety of methods, from the naked eye to automation, the quality control system as well as the process of maintaining and maintaining machines.
- Quality protection culture towards each worker becoming a “good quality protection ambassador”.
With the goal of making food available and safe everywhere, the factory always applies the strictest standards in the production of packaging to ensure product quality and food safety at the highest level for consumers. Since commencing operations in 2019, the factory in Binh Duong has achieved BRC certification for four consecutive years, even during difficult periods when the factory was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The BRC certification of Binh Duong factory also helps food and beverage manufacturers who are using Tetra Pak packaging to feel secure in the process of quality monitoring, and at the same time helps manufacturers strengthen their confidence on food safety for consumers.
Tetra Pak Binh Duong factory was put into operation in mid-2019 and is Tetra Pak's 8th factory in the Asia-Pacific region. The factory produces sterile paper boxes for the domestic market and exports to countries in ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand.
Previously, in 2020, Tetra Pak factory in Binh Duong received the Gold LEED certification - the most rigorous version 4, helping the factory save 17.6 million liters of water, reuse and recycle 65% of waste and reduce emissions of 4,000 tons of CO2 into the environment each year.
In 2021, Tetra Pak invested an additional EUR 5 million in the factory to increase annual output from the current 11.5 billion boxes to 16.5 billion boxes and installed 2,300 solar panels on the roof of the house. machine. This is the Company's effort in realizing its ambition to thoroughly eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from all Company operations by 2030.
